I have many tubes of oil paints in different colors/brands not listed here. How do I determine which category (WT/WO/CT/CO) each of these colors falls into? Mainly, how do I know the difference between a warm and cool color (as I am accustomed to the conventional wisdom on this – red orange yellow = warm / green blue purple = cool)? As far as opaqueness, some of them do not say transparent or opaque but I think those will be easier for me to figure out by putting them on my palette. I am mainly confused about telling the difference between warm and cool of the same color.
Thank you! Loving these lessons.

Hi Kristin,
Great question! We have added the warm cool color chart for you to download. It has most of the common colors listed. Also at the bottom of lesson 1 there is a link to Gamblin’s website and the section where they talk about color temperature and give a list of paint and their properties. I’m excited for you to discover the amazing world of warm and cool paint!
Perfect! This chart will help a ton. Thank you so much!
