What is the Milan Art Institute?
The Milan Art Institute is an incredible environment for creative people to flourish in the arts. You will experience great community and friendship, as you gain classic essential skill, as well as innovative techniques John and Elli Milan have developed over the last 18 years. Some of these techniques can only be found at the Milan Art Institute. You will find the atmosphere at the school non-competitive and completely encouraging. Emerging and professional artists alike improve skills, learn new techniques, and build lasting relationships.
Our youth classes produce artwork that both children and parents are proud of. The colors are rich, clean, and pleasing, and the subjects are clear. Our classes teach plenty of techniques and focus on the elements of art and on building artistic skills.
- Mom & Tot classes for children under 5 years

Adult classes are taught at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels usually over a one, two or three week period.
Beginner classes are for people who want to brush up on foundation techniques or for those who have no art experience. Classes are entertaining as well as informative.
Intermediate classes are ideal for people who have a solid foundation and are looking to build on their skills. Classes are offered in painting, drawing, mixed media, and collage. Class sizes are kept small so students have lots of individual attention.
Advanced classes are offered to artists looking to further their professional development. Artists are taught how to develop a personal style, find their inner aesthetic, select source material, and market and sell their artwork. Here are some class examples:
- Beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels
- Art critiques
- Open studio time
